More Information

Please join us for an evening of learning about the universe no GTby observing interesting astronomical objects, including the moon, constellations, planets, and stars.  Telescopes and/or binoculars will be provided by SAS volunteers, but participants are also welcome to bring their telescopes.  Also, participants might want to bring their favorite cell phone sky app or a sky map from www.skymaps.com , but these helps are not required.  Dress warmly and plan to meet in the peninsula area just south of the Bathhouse Theatre and east of the Bathhouse parking lot near the trail around the lake.

    Covington Parks & Recreation sponsors monthly star parties observing the moon, planets, constellations and interesting astronomical objects. Volunteer astronomers from the Seattle Astronomical Society and Boeing Employees' Astronomical Society will provide telescopes and assist guests of all ages to view available celestial objects of the season.     Third Quarter Moon Members-Only Star Party

    This star party offers another opportunity each month to observe under a dark sky. It's open to all SAS members but is specifically designed to orient new members to dark-sky protocol. Although dark-sky etiquette is expected (see below), experienced members will be on hand to help newcomers learn the ropes. The Third Quarter Star Party is for SAS members only and will be on Saturday, September 1, 2018, at 9:00 p.m. if weather permits.
