Overview

SAS volunteers with telescopes are sought for a "Stargazing on the Farm" on Friday, August 10, 2019 at the Oxbow Farm & Conservation Center in Carnation, WA.

This event will bring to the community an opportunity to experience the beauty of the Farm's land and sky.  An SAS member will present an  evening star talk to guests

Up to five SAS volunteers with telescopes are needed.  A gourmet evening meal along with wine from Novelty Hill Winery will be available to volunteers at a reduced price.

    A national park ranger, Jeff Zylland, is putting together a public observing night on Wednesday, August 8 at Sunrise on Mount Rainier, which has the highest altitude reachable by road and very dark skies. Jeff is looking for help from local astronomers.     Rattlesnake Mountain Trailhead Star Party

    Always scheduled on the closest Saturday to the New Moon, our usual Members-only Rattlesnake Mountain Trailhead Star Party will be open to the public for a meteor shower on Saturday, August 11, from 7:00 P.M. to 11:55 P.M. Join us as we look up and enjoy the evening sky. We stargaze at the Rattlesnake Mountain Trailhead parking lot to the southwest of Snoqualmie Point Park. This month the gate will not close. All vehicles must display a valid Discover Pass.
